BLUF: Would I do solar again, YES, 100%; would I do it again with Shinnova, maybe? While the salesperson (Adam K) is nice, answers all your questions, responsive and downright the type of guy you would like to hang out with, you have to remember that it is HIS JOB. Once you sign the contract, his job moves him on to someone else and in theory you are assigned a project manager (PM) to work with going forward. While they have made up for it and kept their word throughout the whole process, the communication would be the number one thing I wish more for. The welcome packet with your contract copies and other process step information was sent with no PM assignment and had to reach out a month later because no one had reached out to us. Next our assigned PM left, and it was over 2 weeks before we knew we were reassigned to another person (Bailey) (bounced email told us of the fact). Bailey, communicated as changes occurred and listened to my questions and helped me find the answers I needed to feel comfortable with the process. The billing department (shout out to Jay!) was great to work with on making payments and helped keep part of the promises given and help with billing/tax questions and Ethan for helping to resolve the last several months hurtles to get it all done and finished. So, yes I would definitely do solar again, and as long as you read the contract and project planning documents well, and keep on the communication, Shinnova is a good reputable company to work with.
