I have been working construction for over 20 years. This type of work stresses your muscles and joints more than most professions and I was looking for some relief. RA and MS sufferer here. There aren’t enough words to describe how awesome Dr. Steve at Retrieve PT is. I have been suffering with chronic pain for many, many years. I have done physical therapy before, 2-3 times per week for months on end. I was never able to really feel better or that I had any sort of control over my pain, not to mention the amount in wasted copays. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2020 and then, most recently, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in January of 2023, which explains my pain for the last 10+ years. I have dealt with severe nerve pain, horrific muscle spasms, joint instability and reduced range of motion in my spine and other joints. While my MS is lifelong and progressive, he has given me control back over my body. I am able to get ahead of pain and reduce it (sometimes even eliminate it). Just to have an overall improvement of 80-90% in my symptoms is huge for both my physical and mental health. I was able to gain this control over about 4 visits. Also, knowing that when my MS rears its ugly head and flares up (which it will), Steve is just a phone call/text away and able to help treat it, regardless of whether it is pain, spasticity or even the near paralysis I have had in my right leg in the past. My body has seen all sorts of abuse from years of working with an expansive array of materials (industrial ceramics production, wood, stone, steel, concrete, etc.) as well as years of awful posture in classrooms and at desks. For the past 2 years I have been working out of Spencerport, NY with a hardscaping outfit, moving thousands of pounds of material a week manually as well as constantly operating heavy equipment, machinery, and tools in very difficult and sometimes extremely painful positions in order to leave behind beautiful, architecturally sound, natural-stone structures and features. I “threw out” my back. Do it all the time. Had grown to accept it as my twice-yearly payback for the way I work and abuse my body. It took me the usual 1-2 weeks to get back to work, wasting money and time to recover, lying around in the most awkward positions imaginable to try and ease the intense suffering in my low-back. Shortly after getting back to work, my employer set me up with Dr. Steve for some sessions to work on getting me back to full capacity and with the hope of reducing my likelihood of getting hurt and being out of work during our busiest times. I went to Dr. Steve, after suffering with my back for several weeks. I went to the chiropractor, and it would help until I was back in my vehicle driving. Then, it would flare back up after a couple more weeks when I was in so much pain. I went to my doctor and was prescribed an anti-inflammatory med and a muscle relaxer. These helped as long as I was sitting at home. I finally broke down and made an appointment with Dr. Steve. After just 3 sessions with him, my back issue is now so much better and continues to get better every day. I followed his instructions on doing the exercises and still do them after sitting, during exercising and walking. Next time I have an issue, I'll just go straight to him instead of wasting money at the chiropractor and Dr's office. Less

I saw Dr Steve with severe shoulder pain and stiffness. I am a hairstylist and thought, Oh no, I can't do a rotator cuff injury! (as a stylist, a long time off for healing can be devastating to my business) I wasn't sure where the pain was coming from. I came to Stephen to relieve a chronic knee problem that I have had for years. Stephen was extremely helpful in relieving my knee pain. Throughout the three visits, he addressed spinal issues, which in turn relieved my knee pain. He provided specific stretching exercises to complete at home as well, which improved the flexibility and strength in my knee. I was surprised how quickly the pain subsided. Stephen began helping me in 2016 after a broken shoulder which healed beautifully! In 2018 I went back for assistance with chronic back issues. Again, simple exercises could "fix" everything. We moved to Florida several years ago. This year it just happened that the activities I was involved in for a couple of months required much sitting for long periods of time; not my best subject! Of course my back protested, but the standard exercises that always helped me get back on track did not seem to do the trick. To make a long story short, I reconnected with Stephen via the internet. We use telehealth visits which actually seem pretty much the same as being there in person! I am so glad to have found Retrieve Physical Therapy! My problems include a stiff / sore neck associated with bending my head as a motion that occurs in my work...using a controller on a GPS unit. Dr. Stephen has taught me a wide variety of neck exercises that have helped me tremendously and have taken that pain away. I also have Celtic Hand (Dupuytren's Contracture) which is stiffening of the hand tendons. With the stretching exercises I am following from Dr. Stephen, my hands are just about normal now, and I will not have to undergo hand surgery. I am now going to Retrieve on a monthly basis to continue my exercises which now include kettlebell exercising....physical training 👍There is nobody that knows the human body (muscles, joints and skeletal) better than Stephen and I highly recommend him to anyone needing help....I plan on keeping monthly visits to Retrieve a regular part of my healthcare 😎!! When I first had sciatica issues, I was referred to Stephen to do physical therapy with him. He told me that within four sessions he would have me walking without the cane. I started out with a walker, graduated to a cane and Stephen came through. By my third visit, I was without the cane and walking on my own. Stephen starts from the source of the problem. I had to do my exercises at home, but he showed me the proper way of doing them. He's very excited about what he does because he enjoys helping people. I have a full-time job that is very physically demanding and have suffered from herniated disc flare-ups and tightness in the neck and shoulders caused by repetitive work-related movements. I scheduled an on-site physical therapy evaluation with Dr. Steve and he met me at my place of work to observe firsthand the movements I go through during my daily work routine. He was able to immediately spot what was going wrong and recommend exercises to address each concern. Using the furniture and space in my own work environment, I was able to learn exercises and stretches and see how I can easily incorporate them into my workday. Since the on-site evaluation I have not had any flare-ups or excessive tightness! I make it a point to do my exercises several times a day and it really makes the difference. I just finished a very busy work season (2 months long) and felt amazing afterwards! That has never happened in the 14 years I've been working in this field. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the on-site evaluation was career-changing -- it has helped me to be able to continue working without pain even during the busiest times. I highly recommend an on-site evaluation if you are in any type of job that is physically demanding or involves repetitive movements. Dr. Steve also offers in-person and virtual appointments which makes it possible to meet with him despite any distance. I scheduled a virtual follow-up appointment and he was still able to observe movements and offer different exercises to continue to enhance my progress. Ever since I recovered from a small knee surgery in 2014, I was having frequent instances of my knee locking up, or a feeling that something was not aligned properly. I came to see Steve only one time a couple of months ago, and after practicing just one simple stretch he showed me, my knee is basically 100%. I went from an almost daily inconvenience of losing knee stability, to have only experienced it two times in the past few months. I also feel more confident in what I’m physically able to do now that I have more trust in the stability of my knee. While I was there he also showed me another exercise I can do to loosen up my upper back to tackle a mobility issue I’ve had since college. Came to Retrieve PT after months of nerve pain in my left arm. The facility was clean and professional. Dr. Fose assessed my situation and went through a series of tests to try and isolate the problem. He was able to diagnose the problem as an issue with my neck, which I was not expecting. After taking some measurements in neck mobility and flexibility, he showed me a series of neck stretches to try and free up the limited range of motion I was experiencing. The stretches were uncomfortable at first but after only a few days the pain in my arm has dissipated and my neck felt better than it ever has. I continue to do the stretches daily. What I found I liked most about the experience was the manner by which Dr. Fose explains the situation, walks you though the process and gives you the tools you keep yourself in good shape long after you have your final appointment.
